We took the kids on a 22 hour (one way) road trip to North Carolina to meet all the Fairbairns in June. The kids travelled amazing and except for almost losing the keys in the automatic flusher in South Carolina at a rest stop, it went off without a hitch. Asher didn't want to go anywhere near the ocean. He would, however play in the tide pools in the evening and loved building sand castle. Giya wanted to dive in the ocean and become one with the fish.
