The Trombone

My dad is soooooo proud of this. Asher had been asking to play the trombone for months and couldn't wait until we got to Papa's house and could try it there. My dad played for years/decades in jazz bands, etc. Asher played until his lips were "tingly".

In Atlanta - Before New Neice Arrived

We got to stop off in Atlanta on the giant roadtrip back and see Jill pregnant - a mere 4 days before little Evelyn came into the world.

Back to Missouri

When you have the opportunity to see a friend that is normally 15 states away and you can get there in 2, then you have to take it. A mere 10 days after being trapped in the car to North Carolina, I set out on my own with the two kids for the 8 hour trip to Missouri. We survived, it wasn't pleasant on the way home, but no scars to tell the story. Not only did God bless me with amazing girlfriends, but when you can say you've know them for almost 30 years, it is a miracle. These are two of my most incredible strong, courageous and beautiful friends.

Beach North Carolina - Ocean Isle Beach

We took the kids on a 22 hour (one way) road trip to North Carolina to meet all the Fairbairns in June. The kids travelled amazing and except for almost losing the keys in the automatic flusher in South Carolina at a rest stop, it went off without a hitch. Asher didn't want to go anywhere near the ocean. He would, however play in the tide pools in the evening and loved building sand castle. Giya wanted to dive in the ocean and become one with the fish.

Trip through Missouri

Giya is not as big of a fan of the lawn mower rides with Papa as Asher was - this time he had no fears and asked to ride the Big one.

Playing Ball with the Grizzlies at the Zoo

This was the funniest thing I had ever seen at the zoo. The big grizzly bear was down by the water when we walked up to the window. He did a dive bomb into the pool and started "playing ball" with both kids. It really seemed as if he was throwing the ball and trying to play with each of them, taking turns who he swam up to and threw the ball too. This went on for at least 15 mintues.
